One thing I will never understand is the fact that this picture is considered beautiful and/or breathtaking because of the color of his eyes, when in fact, this is caused by Ocular Albinism or Nettleship-Falls albinism. It’s a disease. What shocks me is that ailments like these (blue eyes on a black child) is considered attractive, just because they are unusual, and mostly because they are WHITE features. We need to understand that this boy, and many others like him need not carry these genes to be considered unique or extraordinary. They are beautiful without those peircing blue eyes, and with their normal dark brown eyes. Stop brainwashing these children into thinking that they need WHITE features to be considered beautiful. What kind of sick, backward thinking is that?

Agreed, I see so much of this with children of color and people of color. If they’re a little lighter than their peers or have different colored eyes, they’re deemed as more beautiful.

It´s unusual, that´s why it´s considered special. It´s not about being “white”. You can understand whatever you want -.-

No, it’s about looking more white. I think I would know when my culture worships light colored eyes and fair skin.

To say that bright blue eyes are pretty isn’t a racist statement. That’s just a statement. To say that people with brown skin are ONLY attractive with blue eyes IS a horrible racist statement. Some people only think brown eyes are pretty, some people only think blue eyes are pretty. And anyone who generalizes ANYONE or ANYTHING is a dumbass. Maybe racist, maybe not, but a dumbass nonetheless. There is no way to prevent dumbassism. This photo is compelling, however. And black or not, his eyes are beautiful. Not because it is a “white” feature. I don’t think people think black people with blue eyes are better looking because it’s a “white” feature. That’s sort of ridiculous. Anyone likes to look at something out of the norm. Unusual is considered beautiful because it is unique, not because it’s a “white” feature. And yes, it is “unusual” because it’s true, black people don’t usually have blue eyes. AND THAT’S THAT. That’s why it’s unusual. Not because white people are usually the ones with blue eyes. It’s because black people DON’T usually have blue eyes. Look at green eyes, for example. Both white and black Americans have had green eyes, and green eyes are more rare than brown and blue. So it’s very attractive to someone when you see that they have green eyes. That’s not categorized by race. It’s pure opinion, no matter what it comes down to.
